My dad (W5WRR/SK) used a PE-103 to power an Elmac AF-67 in an old Ford with a 6 vdc system as late as the early 1960s. The PE-103 was one of the most desirable pieces of military gear available during the vacuum-tube mobile era, especially since it supported 6 or 12 vdc systems. That PE-103 got sold, but I've still got the AF-67 which was my Novice rig 40 years ago. (A NIB PE-103 came with my SCR-284.)

The other SCR-284 supply, the PE-104 receiver vibrator supply, doesn't seem to have been too useful to hams. Within the last ten years, it could still be purchased NIB at Fair Radio.
