I have about 3 or 4 in the basement. I suspect that in the Cincinnati area,
back then, they helped with the traction during snow and ice. They would
probably help more today as most cars are made of plastic and rubber. - Mike

At least every second 50s ham hf mobile ran from a PE-103, the dynamotor
supply for the BC-654 et. al.

However my observations could be skewed since I grew up In Cincinnati where
one found Crosley the builder.

This has been running around in my head for weeks since the thread died
& the devil finally made me type it.
