Jay,

TBS was a little bit like Command Set, meaning both a function and a specific 
radio or group of radios.  But in this particular case, comments mentioning 
TBS specifically were about THE TBS-(*).  A specific Navy crystal controlled AM 
radio set covering 60-80 MC and made in models from TBS through TBS-8.
