Based on the data I have seen, EMP's will blow up tube radios just
like solid state radios. The tube radios just last a little longer.
Simple way to look at it: With a long wire on the radio an EMP is just
like a direct lightning hit on the antenna. The front end coils may
(and probably do) fuse from the hit.
