One of my favorite sci-fi movies is the 1979 "Alien" movie.  Eight minutes into the movie, the captain goes into a darkened corridor and turns on a small lamp.  Directly under the lamp is a C-30A/ARC-5 HF/VHF transmitter control box.  You can even see that transmitter 4 and VHF channel D are selected, but the power is OFF.  I suppose they were still using 121.5 MHz for deep space emergency communications. :-)
