The plug you describe is the U-7/U.  If you want to connect to the transmitter's transmit/receive relay contacts to mute the receiver and/or install the external "MONITOR-NORMAL" (netting) switch that was used in the military installation, you will need a 27-pin U-8/U (which also leads to the control box, if that is used).
