Meir & Ben,

Partial Post no longer exists as an international service. Last May, USPS
changed everything. Air Letter Post became First Class Mail International and
goes in 1 oz and then 4 oz increments up to a max of 4 lb. Cost isn't too bad.
But the down side is that it can neither be insured nor tracked (or at least
the tracking info is not available to customers. Air Parcel Post and Global
Priority Mail were replaced with Priority Mail International which is
moderately expensive except in rare cases. It goes in 1 lb increments and except
Canada, 1 lb to anywhere is in the $21 to $25 range. But it has some tracking and
carries weight based automatic insurance included, or if the package value
exceeds that, you can pay extra for insurance to cover the value. All surface
mail out of the USA was discontinued. A few places still have it coming this
way, like Holland.

If the switch supplier didn't quote UPS or etc. ($30 sounds cheap for them)
then they probabably quoted PriMail plus handling. PriMail requires the 6-part
customs form which takes a while to do.
