[Milsurplus] Bathtubs, again.

Not all soldering irons are created equal however. A 100w iron of one type
will do as good a job as a 200W of another type.
We use a OLD, (at least 50 years old) 100W we affectionately call -Big
Bertha-. It has a tip that is 7/8 inch diameter, 2" long and is 1/2 inch
across tip blade. A lot of copper. When it gets hot, it will hold heat
very well, and does not "sink" down when unsoldering from a thick chassis or
opening up bathtubs. I think it was a "frame iron" used by a telephone
company? We used it to repair radiators as well years ago.
