Sorry, but I disagree with your first two points.  Any dictionary that 
equates "scarce" and "rare" is either an unabridged comic book or was written by 
someone for whom English is at best a third language.

Secondly, the majority of the inhabitants of North America aren't still using 
300 baud dial-up.  The cost of high-speed internet access amounts to the cost 
of a few Big Macs a month.

I won't get into the ebay argument.  My fog-foam system is on the blink for 
lack of enough ox blood to feed it.
