Let's not unnecessarily confuse the definition of words that an
unabridged dictionary says have the same meaning ... yes, rare and
scarce ARE the same thing. That's why I added "Limited Availability".

Plus, I'm one of the host of normals out here who do NOT have access to
ebay; it's currently irrelevant to me. This list and Hamfests are the
ONLY source I have for "green radios". (and black, and grey, and ...)
That said, I allow that collecting fanatics will pay what to me is
exorbitant sums for high-speed internet access, and buy off the web
with abandon ...

And shipping IS getting to be a major problem: if someone had a
"valuable" (BA) rig I was willing to shell out mucho shekels for, I
most certainly would NOT want it subjected to the not-so-tender mercies
of UPS or even USPS. I doubt I'm the only one who passes on desired
items simply because they're too far away to go pick up.

Okay, so I fudged - unique DOES mean "one" only. I don't use the term
lightly, due to the SK factor.

It's only a "global world" if you can afford to be "plugged in" and be
online daily (hourly?), as many avid collectors are. I'm neither; so
there.

All that said, since the scale is named after the Dave, I afford him
the right to kibbitz it. Of course, I reserve the right to not use it
... it's not like gun collecting, which has a relatively rigid scale
"enforced" by the NRA ... I don't think the ARRL qualifies to judge
here: they've done at least as much damage as not, and I'm sure their
advertisers wish we'd scrap ever' last BA and buy all new stuff ...
