[Milsurplus] eBay does it

I'm also going to have to come down on the postive side
for PayPal. I haven't had any trouble with them, though
I know a few folks have. Frankly, I won't miss having to
deal with checks and money orders- not a bit.
They are archaic and a nuisance.
As for PayPal "getting into my checking account-"
I have a seperate account specifically linked to PayPal.
So far, they've never tried to "charge back, " but if
they do, they won't get very far.

I don't care for Ebay's arrogance and
dismissal of us as "noise" sellers; we who made them,
but, sadly, have no effective way to break them.
Like it or not, they are still the "800 pound gorilla"
and they know it. Going back to hamfesting in your
local area will not hurt them and, if you're hoping to
recover anything close to the value of your family's
assests invested in your stuff, it will hurt you.
Selling at hamfest will get you pennies for
your invested dollars.
If that became the accepted answer, we will go
back to the days when those rare pieces you
delighted in finding for your collection end up
going to the dump. I have items in my collection
I never dreamed of even seeing.

I don't know how to spank Ebay,
but boycotts are never effective unless a corporation's
PR people are both powerful and weak-willed.
Ebay's people are neither, and they've already
made it clear what they think of our protests.
Our choices are clear- give up and leave,
and therefore lose the investment of our family's assets,
or accept Ebay's a-hole-ery as a cost of doing business.
Regards, D.S.
