Precisely. Rather than ranting about someone who tried to do the list
a favor by posting an item number, simply look at it or ignore it. So
much easier than letting the world know that they didn't reach your
expectations.
As far as the whole ebay link issue, I've read many posts from Al
Waller stating that he has no problem with folks sharing links for
viewing, discussing, etc. He even set up a specific list for
discussing ebay to keep unrelated topics off specific lists.
The rude behavior in my opinion is posting your own auction to a list
of folks who have helped you over the years, as if to say 'you're good
enough to push my final high bid up, just not good enough to have it
offered for sale to you first'. Quite often these folks have too high
of a reserve on their item, and when it doesn't sell - surprise! The
list is suddenly worthy. A for sale ad pops up.
There was also the issue of ebay making millions (billions?) while Al
and others got no compensation to differ their operating expenses. But
beyond that, discussing specific items related to the list has always
been acceptable as far back as I can remember. Except as John pointed
out, on one or two lists run by the same admin.
I find it far more tiresome to read posts instructing me as to what I
think, should think, and so on. Thanks anyway, but I'm a big boy now.
