>>>Not including postage itself, it costs me between $40 and $55 in direct
and indirect expenses >>to ship one small package. For a larger item going
Priority Mail the cost is about $10 to $15 >>more. Costs are a combination of
time to complete forms, time and petrol for the round trip to >>the PO, time
spent waiting in line to get up to the counter (in the que) and time spent at
the >>counter.

I guess it all depends upon if its a full time tax paying business or just
hams trading I guess. If I charged for my time and such just to post off a plug
to some other operator, as a ham not a business, then I guess that would
indeed bump up the total cost involved to get it from my hand into theirs.

But, I tend to use pre-used materials, maybe the odd bit of new (and very
costly) sticky tape or glue, then rather than make a special trip to the post
office (of course in the UK, being a tiny little island, they are within
walking distance most times) I simply take the envelope with me the next time I go
to town to buy a stale loaf. This way the expense to the buyer of the plug is
limited to the cost of the postage. Seems I might be doing myself out of a
lot of money. So, if everone could send me $5 to pay for my time writing this,
switching on the pc, the broadband connection, the coffee needed to wake up,
 then I should be covered.

No, just joking.... about the $5 that is, not the rest.

Anyway, I guess the answer is to only buy non US sets in future. That should
save a lot of hassel, hi.

HAND, Ben.
