[Milsurplus] BC-230 question

Here's a strange one
 
 Just working on my BC-230. Strange thing, could not get any mod.  Thought 
mic trfmr open circuit but after looking inside it measures ok, reason  for no 
mod, the mic supply is going to the wrong pin on the supply plug, well,  its 
different to the cct I have.  The cct shows it connected to the 12v  supply, 
then via resistor to the mic trfm then back to the plug and hence  mic.
 
On this set the top of the mic chain, which should have gone to the 12v  goes 
to the big centre locating pin on PL-64 ?
 
Anyone know why ?
