The T-29's were all on the 240 airframe and all had P&W R-2800 basic
engine. The 340/440 both had P&W R-2800 CB-16's with water injection
paddle blade props, full shrouded thrust augmenters, longer wings,
higher gross weight and autofeather.
Most of the 340/440 were converted to 540 turboprops with the 501D-13
Electra engine package. some 240's were converted to 640 with RR Dart
turboprop, also some 240's were converted to executive 300 with basic
R-2800.
I have flown all versions except the 640.
The last one I flew was a 300 converted for Ford Motor and was bought by
Bernie Cornfeld of Investors Overseas services. I parked it at Tel Aviv
Lod airport in Jan. of 73 to be painted and it was junked out by IAI
after Bernie died.
As a ID all 20 series airstair door was on the right side and all
340/440 was on the left side which is now the standard
