[Milsurplus] MFP removal

The varnish itself appears to be referred to as MIL-V-173 (or currently it 
may more correctly be MIL-V-173C).  One source I found indicates it is pretty 
expensive, $80/quart or $130/gallon.  One supplier's MSDS says that the solvent 
is Xylene.  I just queried one supplier as to the availability of a solvent 
suitable for cleaning solder joints for repairs.  And told them the typical age 
of the equipment is >50 years in case the composition of the varnish has 
changed significantly since our gear was coated.
