Was trying to avoid it but looks like I will be removing and disassembling the first IF transformer tonight. I am starting to wonder if I really did see a resistance of 10 K but thought it was so strange when I saw it that I did check it twice. Have no idea what's inside these IF cans, they are small maybe about the size of a sixties or so vintage tube radio IF transformer and have the four wires entering directly thru four separate holes in the bottom of the can. would hope that the four wires attach to four binding post in the transformer. Are the primary windings on top of the secondary? thought their were one set on top of slug tube and one on bottom?
