These guys sound pretty comfortable, too.
Someone else at the original site said it matched
transcripts of intercepted radio traffic during Leyte Gulf.
Not sure I buy that, either.
I think radio men in combat in the South Pacific
were more likely to speak
as their training taught them: "measured and distinct
like President Roosevelt," and to interject a few choice
other phrases into the procedure, kinda like:
"Easy Red One this is Easy Red Three, fir.... ("zzzzzzz-UP!")
DA** IT!! WHERE THE HEL* DID THAT.....Oh, SH*T!!
EASY RED..... crap! Easy Red One, this is Easy Red Three,
Fire missi (*BLAM!*) YAAA! Cover! COVER!...."
