[Milsurplus] U-229/U O-Rings

Green Radio Guys,

Does anyone have a handle on replacement o-rings for the U-229/U audio 
connectors used on the later field sets? After making some measurements, 
that were backed up by a statement on a popular milcomm collector 
website, I ordered a batch of 5/8" ID 1/16" wide (actually 0.070") rings 
from McMaster Carr. These are clearly too fat to allow the connectors to 
mate. It's hard to accurately measure used rings, but the seemed thinner 
than 1/16, so all this was not a great surprise.

I've since discovered that metric rings come in much finer gradation of 
sizes. If no one has a definitive answer, perhaps someone is in a 
position to accurately measure the ID of the groove in the connector.
