Which, as I'm sure you understand well Mac, is often a result of those
moving here who aren't from here and don't share the traditional
views, morals, and so on. The whole 'battleship' issue is well
illustrated by San Francisco's recent denial/refusal to set up a
museum ship there based on the whole 'war-monger' mentality. It truly
is a political lifestyle vs honor and/or history debate, sad as that
is. Citing Massachusetts's past history of defending freedom has
nothing to do with what the state has turned into since. We referred
to them as 'Taxachussetts' until the new age politicians gave Vermont
the dubious honor of having the highest tax burden in the country,
followed by the first state to elect a card-carrying socialist to the
senate.

It doesn't bode well for museums, milsurplus, or anything else
unfortunate enough to fall under their control. Even those who
insisted on cleaner wind power protest its use if it somehow ends up
in their view. Gotta have priorities, after all. (o:
