These types of 'clean' set ups do surface occasionally. I've got a
nice BC-453 receiver built onto a chassis with power supply added to
the external chassis, not receiver. This chassis also has RF/Volume
control and headphone jack. Connections are made to the receiver via
small slip-on connectors for the dynamotor, easily removed to
substitute receivers. The only 'damage' is a few holes in the bottom
plate, used to hold the receiver in place on the power supply deck.

Works quite well, and the receiver is returned to stock condition by
replacing the bottom cover with the one you remove from the next
receiver mounted.
