Well, I have now seen the best yet.

We all know just how lazy film makers are in getting the right radios etc,
the BC611 talking to the BC1000 in 'Kellys Heros', the R1155 in the back of a
tank, etc etc.

I recorded a film the other week, late at night, just watched it.

Dimension Films 'Below'. Supposed to be US sub, Atlantic 1943. I thought I
caught side of something funny early on. Later there was the same shot, so I
switched to freeze frame and nudged it forward.

It must be the only US sub in the world to have a British Army Wireless Set
No12 transmitter and a Marconi Electra receiver in the control room.

Later there were scenes in the 'radio' room. I counted: 2 x AR88, BC-221,
BC-609, 2 x HRO, PCR receiver, Halli SX-28 and a BC348.

The amazing thing is that scenes were credited to the USS Silverside, a WW2
sub now a museum. You would have thought someone there might have helped out
in the props department.

So, if you see it on DVD rent it and have a good laugh. The film ?, oh quite
rubbish.

cheers, Ben G4BXD
