The PE-86 has no external connectors on the base, per se. A hole is drilled into the base shell for the conduit. The conduit is then wired to a connector in the base shell that connects to the upper part of the base/dynamotor assembly. The BC-366 control box and BC-347 interphone use the same sort of connection system, where the base shell is permanently mounted to the aircraft, but the "works" can be lifted away and disconnected from the base connector.
