This is just a brief note of things seen at NEAR-Fest in Deerfield New
Hampshire this Friday and Saturday.
Friday: It rained in the morning gradually shifting to intermittent
showers in the afternoon. From memory, items seen included;
VRC-524 with second receiver, but lacking mounting trays and accessories
ARR-8A VHF ELINT receiver
ART-13 with below average paint
RA-10 in rather sad condition, missing the tuning gear box and with a
bright red dyno. Case missing lots of paint
Two SCR-274 transmitters missing covers ot dial plastic.
Several ARC-5 and SCR-274 receivers, almost all modified
BC-221-AK in a beautiful OD case w/o a single scratch, but sadly with a
hole in the battery cover & missing data plate.
BC-211-T in black metal case w/ home brew power supply.
BC-221 like VHF frequency meter in very nice condition.
RU-18 w/o covers
Microphone No. 7 and cordage for a US No. 19 Mk II, no earphones for
almost $50
Interestingly, there were very few computers.
Saturday: A beautiful, sunny but chilly (55 degrees) and windy day. I
didn't have a lot of time to shop. Many of the Friday sellers were set
up, but there was about 1/3 more stuff.
ART-13 (T-47, not 47A) in virtually NOS cosmetically, but with a couple
of mods to the audio circuits. A transformer had been removed and
replaced w/ a tube.
A 6 to 9 MHz SCR-274 with unmolested PI for $50 w/o dyno.
Mil code practice unit in OD case with apparently photoelectric sensing.
Non-Mil quite a few Tek 7000 scopes, including 7603 w/ 7L12; 7704A, 7854
w/ Keyboard
This list is just what I remember seeing. I did not take notes.
Thankfully, the PA system of the old HossTraders was absent. All in all,
a fun event. The organizer and volunteers should be pleased with
themselves.
Best,
-John
