Don, i agree with your post except for a couple tiny points. I opine that
a "stamp collection or baseball card collection" may be much more widely
recognized as value and having liquidity.
 
Also, there's no such thing as "parts units" junkers, items waiting 
restoration, "spare part for so-and-so future project",  and other
unrecognizable and to the untrained eye, useless and ugly
stuff. -Hue
