Re my posting for the dyno for a BC-312. 
 
I found a small inverter, used with the Codar AT5 transmitter. 12v in about  
250v out. I have fitted it to the set in place of the dyno and its working 
fine. 
 
I was looking at ebay though, found this: 160163366486
 
I'm thinking this would be ideal to power receivers from 12v. Put a full  
wave bridge and a bit of smoothing on the o/p, it might well prove useful. You  
should be able to get 250v smoothed and being high frequency the smoothing  
components could be quite small as well.
 
Just a thought.
