This and Ft. Sumpter guardded the entrance to Charleston (SC) harbor.
Someone wrote about a stop @ this Nat'l Park Svc. site some time back.
It was said quite a few BC-779s present behind a plexi window.
Ft. Moultrie's wsa once a coastal artillery site run by both Navy & Army
'til 1947. A curator named Greg found a ww2 foto & repro'd it
faithfully - or like Laura Croft, just found old WVEH intact after he
reentered the room
There ARE six BC-779s and, catch this, two 32RAs. At last, a real life
example of their employment!
Have pictures & will put on web.
Color me happy to have found those 32RAs as-employed 60 years back
But wait, that's not all. "Jasper Battery" there had 10" Spanish-
American era disappearing guns that stayed in place 'til 1943. AND
there's a continuous-loop video of them in service.
