That's true.  And some production, as I mentioned earlier WRT the IF and RF 
can plugs, omits some to many of the pins in the front panel connector.

That's true.  And the same type comment applies to BC-348 (and 224) 
schematics in the old conversion handbooks and probably (having all the manuals I've 
never bothered to look) on the internet stuff.  One schematic (most commonly -J 
or -Q) is shown as though it covered all models.  Which it very much doesn't.
