It sure does have that look about it, Mike.

Further inspection last night (I actually looked at the tag and paid
attention this time) shows it to be a DY-17/ART-13A dynamotor, with a
5DY81**** number and an inverted triangle with a 'T' inslde as
manufacturer.

The side of the dynamotor over the connectors has the radial cooling
fins and reverse-stamped spokes (concave instead of convex) into the
solid end bell. Opposite side has small, horizontal slot louvers along
the flat end, where the many holes are on later models.

I'm not in very good shape for digital pix at this time(tired old PC
and camera), but I'll try to get some taken soon and sent to Mike and
Robert for evaluation. In the meantime, I'll have a look through my
Cannon connectors to see what's there before starting the search for
connectors again. I know Robert has some, but it sure would be nice to
find the actual cables. Fat chance, I know. Right up there with
locating shock mounts.  (o:
