Jim;
There are bidding services that can put your bid in any time you set prior
to the end of the auction. You decide how much you want to pay for the
item, the bid is put in for you at the time you specify. If the bidding
doesn't come up to your maximum, the winning bid is only the next minimum
increment from the second highest bid. For example, if you decide the mike
is worth $40 to you, and the last bid is $20, if the minimum increment is
$1, your bid will come in with $21 and you won. You definitely don't have
to babysit the auction...
BTW did you call Fair Radio and ask them whether they have any RS-38
mikes? sometimes they have unadvertised stuff... Also, Baran's Surplus is
a possibility.
