Dang, once again I can't find my printed list of MF non-directional beacons, and once again I can't google my way to one on line. I found a cool look-up page, but I need an alphabetical list by callsign. Can anyone help?
For the 5th time or so, but the first time on BB-59, I am going to have visitors sit down in front of an RBA and tune the beacon band. They'll have a Morse code chart to look up the letters, and when they have pieced the callsign together they can look up the beacon and its location.
Other activities will include:
1)using call signs and prosigns to call DD-450 on the TBS, exchanging their name in phonetics.
2)typing a short message on blank form with USS MASSACHUSETTS on top, using a manual typewriter, to take home as a souvenir.
3)Trying their hand at sending code with a straight key and OAH code training unit.
4)"Instant Messaging" with the NORTH CAROLINA by licensed amateurs on the ship's TBM and TDE transmitters and RBB/RBC receivers.
