Dave,
Your tube is indeed a 6A7. It's the same as the US type 6SA7. The VIII-61
is the manufacturing date of 8-61 (August 1961).
The RS-P is a nice old aircraft receiver, but later the US-9 receivers
replaced it (the BC-348 clones).
Presently working on cabling up my Russian R-807/US-9 station
(ART-13/BC-348 clone). Incidentally, my US-9 was manufactured in 1966 and
the R-807 in 1962, but I know of another US-9 with 1976 manufacturing
date.
Just for effect, I'm setting it up right next to the identical
ART-13/BC-348 station.
