GEIIA (Got Every Electronic Idiot Available) has been
gone for many years. I believe it was replaced by
AFCS Electronic Engineering Division(s) somewhere
around the mid-1970s. I don't remember the exact
date. AFCS (Aggravation First Communications Second)
which replaced AACS (Acres & Acres of Chicken Stuff)
sometime in the 1960s.

There was a program to procure radio equipment
from the ham community during the early part of
WWII, mainly in preparation for the invasion of
Africa. The Army AF had an organization, Plant
Engineering Agency (PEA), PEA worked closely
with the new Air Communications Service to meet
the needs for all AF communications. Signal Corps
didn't get involved with AF much, except for
equipment procurement contracts and the top
level of supply. While in AACS after the war I've
heard that a few radio operators encountered their
very own radio that they had donated to AF before.
(PEA still lives in the form of GEEIA, but was I&M
and E&I at times along the way. I been in those
outfits twice.)
