At the above URL there is also a surprising reference to USN use in May 1942 of the ABA Mark IV IFF, equivalent to the SCR-515 (BC-645) set. That's one of the very rare reports of use of the Mark IV IFF, which is usually otherwise reported as having been "held in reserve" in case the Mark III IFF (ABJ/SCR-595, ABF/SCR-695, AN/APX-1, -2, -8) was compromised.
