When I flew with them back in the early 90s, the radio compartment was
my choice. The large plexiglas window above was removed for better
viewing, and there was no gun mounted. I can clearly recall coming up
off the runway after a low level pass and feeling my feet leave the
floor as the plane banked. Grabbed the edge of the window opening as
it felt like I would float out of the aircraft. With no 'chute on, it
wouldn't have been pretty.
Was good catching up with you at Dayton, Marty. Thanks for wearing a
very visible nametag, I'd have never found you otherwise. Enjoyed very
much talking with you and Don, W5OR. Learned a few new things and got
a few goodies to boot!
