Very cool find... I remember when it was originally posted.
 
That it a AN/MRC-6A radio set using a OA-26A/MRC-6 radio transmitter-receiver 
assembly(similar to TCS with antenna ) in a CY-731/MRC radio set cabinet. The 
installation in a jeep is shown in the Instruction for Installation of 
MX-566A/MRC Installation Kit for the United States Marine Corps., Contract 
NObr-39325 approved March 1949
