The TCS is stackable, although the stacking brackets are scarce today, maybe
even rare. My TCS-14 is stacked. The two on USS Valley Forge (CV-45/LPH-8)
were stacked.
The only other two-unit stacked set that comes to mind is the VHF MBF. It
had an accessories box the same size as the radio and when installed the radio
is on top. It would be a little wider and quite a bit shorter than the TCS.
But I've never before heard them mentioned in conjunction with PT boats. And
the TCS is known to have been used on them. The TBX is slightly larger than
the MBF and also has a matching accessories/battery box. But there is no
provision for attaching the two together nor to anything else.
FWIW, the Higgins Boat is a landing craft.
