The majority of the originals are black oxide finished brass. The nickle
plated brass was mostly used internally. Except that some models used them to
attach the bottom cover and the front plug-in adaptor. The head style is
binding. Even today, you get variations in the exact head dimensions when you buy
nominally binding head machine screws.
It is getting difficult to find anyone who will do black oxide, but the odds
of finding someone who will do brass are much better than steel or stainless
steel. On the other hand, plain finish stainless steel is a good look-alike
substitute for nickle plated brass.
There were also two or three different lengths. I think the shortest ones
were used for attaching capacitors and relays to the side of the chassis, with
slightly longer ones used in the covers and front adaptors.
