When I went through Air Force Navigator School
at Harlingen AFB, TX 1961-1962, they required
that students be able to copy Morse at 5 wpm.
Instructor was ticked at me for not even having
the headsets on while he was sending. I already
had General class ticket for 6 years at the time
and when I demonstrated that I could copy what
he was sending just by the clicking of his hand
key, he kicked me out of the class. I headed over
to the O-club for a head start on the rest of the
class!!

I'm pretty sure the cw code speed was slow enuff
that it presented no more of a challenge than the
LF navigation beacons.
