Has anyone experience of rejuvenating leather and canvas as used on
various radio set covers and the like?
On a couple of my Japanese sets the covers are not leather but a
kind of woven canvas which may have been impregnated to
prevent moisture absorption etc but now, 70 year on it has gone
very hard and there's the possibility of it fracturing along the bend lines.
I would like to treat it, I thought of some form of moisturiser, the
boss must have something on her shelf of lotions and potions that
would do. I think most of the face/hand stuff is water based though,
I was wondering if an oil based substance might be better, virgin
olive oil for example? or Jojoba (hohoba) or however its pronounced,
might be a natural solution.
Anyone else tackled this problem?
