Hi Ben and the group,

I have the original mic and boy does it make some output.  A T-17 is definitely no good.  I made a faux mic with a standard carbon telephone element (T-1?) that modulated the rig fully.

The original mic is cylindrical with a press-to-talk switch on the top.  May be a photo on my web site, I've forgotten.

TBX-8 does indeed have a speech amp.
