SCR-293 is a Link 5-Channel FM vehicular set covering 20-28 MC. Consists of
BC-499 Receiver, BC-500 Transmitter-Receiver, FT-239 (dumb meaning it has no
wiring) Mount plus accessories CO-272 Transmission Line, CD-464 Power Cord,
AN-42-A Antenna and I-87-A Test Meter Unit. Somone I know is restoring an early
1942 M3 Halftrack and would like to put the early radio in it instead of an
SCR-508.

Fair has at least one BC-499 and a list member has one he may or may not want
to sell. The FT-239 could be fabricated fairly easily I think, and the
cables and antenna wouldn't be much trouble to make. So the key is a BC-500. It
is about the size or maybe slightly smaller than a BC-604, and like the BC-604,
the operating controls are grouped over at the right-hand end of the front
panel. Has a male 6-pin Jones plug on the front panel and a female on the left
end (for the BC-499 auxiliary receiver).

If anyone has a BC-500 or remembers seeing one within the past few years, or
has any of the accessories, please contact me.
