I have an item with no nameplate. It's a Navy, vacuum-tube fixed
frequency receiver 5-1/4 inches high by 17 wide in the usual Navy
gray, very RF shielded and filtered tight case. Tuning range is 2-8
MHz in 3 bands. The knobs on the front suggest RCA. There is
a power toggle switch, a 3 position RECEPTION switch (A1, A1 broad,
A2-A3), RF Gain knob, Selectivity knob (broad, sharp) a phones knob,
an unlabelled knob, a pilot light, a squelch pushbutton, a BFO knob
a phones jack and a toggle switch unlabelled. And a holder for a
label card. Tubes are ordinary miniatures. There is a crystal
socket inside, and somebody has made a plug out of a FT-243 holder
and run a coax to a BNC connector on the front panel, presumably so
they can use a VFO instead of a crystal. There's also a 575 KHz
crystal oscillator inside.
