Funny.
This was a homing system mainly for carrier aircraft that used a low or
below HF signal modulated on a VHF signal. The homng adapter was
basically a VHF receiver and demodulator and was used ahead of an ARB
receiver. Your box probably switched the antenna lead of the ARB to
either the antenna, for communications, or to the output of the homing
adapter, for homing.
