[Milsurplus] Transmatch Smoke Test

I don't usually smoke, but........
I burned out my L-network transmatch inductor switch yesterday (L=55 uH, C=500 pf). I had just put a Velvet Vernier on the VC, then tested it with the Swan 350. SWR was 5+ on 80-10m (up from 1.5:1 max on most bands). Then I noticed "That Familiar Smell". Looked inside the case again, the very nice, 11 position switch had tiny contacts that were now crispy. NOT original stock, apparently. I have a Navy 7 position RF switch, but it's body is the size of a small tuna can. I think I can make it fit, but......
Got any suspects about 1-1/2" diameter, 1" deep, 1/4"x1" shaft? 11 positions were great when tuning up. The more positions, the merrier (no rudeness intended or implied)
