Mac, I thought MPN-1 Number One began
as a trainer for GCA people at Myrtle Beach.
The CPN-4 at Templehof stayed there after the
lift. I don't know what Tegel used because I was
in Braunschweig (Brunswick) by then maintaining
the "OV" LF beacon. The thing I found unusual
about the MPN-1 was the way Gillfillian kept the
SWR on the Precision waveguide from affecting
the magnetron frequency. They made the wave
guide long enough, (folded up behind the horzontal
sweep antenna), that the magnetron had finished
firing before the SWR pulse arrived back.
