Well, the BC-191, i assume, uses the same TUs, including the
350 - 600 kcs. unit. I wouldn't think the US forces actually used
LF for ground mobile / portable communications, but Germany
and Italy did, and maybe a mobile receiver for these frequencies
was useful there.  -Hue
