RAK, RAL are "regenerative receivers", a subspecies of "TRF",
but not really known as TRF. If you want to see the distinction
most clearly, look at broadcast radios in the latter 1920s. The
2 terms were used quite clearly to differntiate the two. Altho there
is some slop - even some textbooks call the regen a "TRF". I
think the distinction is if the signal goes thru a stage which has
regenerative feedback to improve the selectivity and sensitivity.
A strict "TRF" does not require any adjustment to bring up the
selectivity and sensitivity of the detector.
Re the meters-to-MHz item, sorta related but maybe not:
Don Johnson's book on mobile HF had a really useful
chart on an inside cover: a kHz to MHz conversion chart.
Now wasn't that considerate?
