Dave, that was something Ken Lakin and i discussed at a hamfest somewhere 
back
there. You would have to disconnect the feedback winding, then put a crystal
grid to grid. The old pushpull oscillator circuit. But for 10m and above, 
you'd either
need a 14 MHz rock or best, a 3rd overtone 10m crystal, which is probably 
why
no one is rushing to try this out.

I looked at a Japanese website which showed crystal controlled 3A5 tube 6 
meter
squalkie talkie with xtal control on xmt, but for the BC-222-322 it's not so
adaptable, as this uses just a different relatively low resistance grid leak 
instead
of the usual 1-tube circuit we are used to,  which has a very high grid leak
value for the receive. This sounds like Greek but what i mean it just didn't 
seem
readily adaptable for the BC-222-322. More research is needed.  -Hue
