There were two dials for the RU tuning control, one from
0 to 100 and another one from 100 to 0. It depended on
which spigot on the receiver you hooked the spline shaft
to.
The book (RU-18/19 and RU-17/GH-12) mention the other dial
in the listings at the front of the book, but nothing about
them in the installation section. The installation section says
to use the right hand spigot ("outlet 261").
I don't know if the Army SCR-183 and 283 had backwards
dials or not, probably research for a rainy day.
